Skincare for Sensitive Skin

For those of you with sensitive skin like myself, I’m going to talk to you about what I find is good for cleaning my skin without any irritation and hopefully this advice can help you too.

I have oily sensitive skin, which has been acne prone. Since using a proper skincare routine, it’s been so long since I’ve had acne I feel like it’s a thing of the past! The products I started using to solve this problem are from the LA ROCHE-POSAY brand and using their products have really cleared my skin up.

This is my step by step routine to having healthy clear skin and I do this routine every night when I’m removing my makeup.

  1. Once I’ve removed my makeup I use LA ROCHE-POSAY’S cleanser EFFACLAR GEL MOUSSANT PURIFIANT.
  2. Once I’ve cleansed my skin, I use their toner- EFFACLAR CLARIFYING TONER.
  3. Lastly, I use their moisturiser EFFACLAR DUO (+) ANTIIMPERFECTIONS.

This simple ten minute routine helps keep my skin clean, smooth and free of excess oil.

So, as you can tell LA ROCHE-POSAY is MY favourite skincare brand for my skin type, which is oily, sensitive and acne prone.

My second favourite skincare brand is CLINIQUE and they pretty much have skincare for any skin type or skin concern. All their products are for sensitive skin.

They have a range of different makeup removers, which come in balm, cream, oil and gel. Whatever you like really to suit your preference. Then you can use their cleanser, clarifying lotion (which is their name for toner), then moisturise. They also have a choice of serums which you can use after you’ve moisturised if you want.

Their skincare is labelled 1,2,3,4 for the different skin types.

0.1 is for dry and very sensitive skin.

1 is for dry skin.

2 is for combination skin.

3 is for normal skin.

4 is for oily skin.

One of best things about Clinique is that if you have any skin concerns, you can go to any of their counters and sit down with a consultant. They will ask you a range of questions about your skin, so that they can help you and advise you on the right skincare that you need. Even if you don’t have any skin concerns, their consultants can advise you on the correct skincare for your skin. Incredibly, having a consultation is completely free.

Remember, good skin is the first most important base for good makeup!
